Earlier this summer, it was announced that China’s largest Internet video company Youku Tudou would be creating a film division, called Heyi Film, to produce films for both physical and digital distribution. One of them is the Korea-China co-production called Bad Sister (壞姐姐之拆婚聯盟).
Directed by Kim Taegyun (김태균), and starring Ivy Chen (陳意涵), Ji Jinhee (지진희), and Chen Xuedong (陳學冬), the film is about two soon-to-be in-law relatives who work together to break up the upcoming marriage. Other cast members include: Christy Chung, Xi Qi, and K-Pop girl group Wonder Girls member Woo Hyerim. The movie is set to be released this November 2014.
Although Ivy Chen plays the leading role in this movie, Chen Xuedong is a hugely popular actor-idol in China right now. Should they hold a Korean movie premiere, it will be interesting to see these two on the red carpet alongside K-Pop idol Woo Hyerim and Korean actor Ji Jinhee.
