In yet another collaboration between Korean and Chinese film talents, actors Kwon Sangwoo and Zhang Yuqi started filming for their new movie Honey Enemy (情敵蜜月) earlier this month on Jeju Island.
Starring Kwon Sangwoo and Zhang Yuqi – also known as Kitty Zhang – as the two main leads, Honey Enemy tells of two colleagues at a marriage arrangement company who hide their ulterior motives to end an engagement by crashing its celebratory cruise. The other actors who form the love quadrilateral are Chinese actress Shi Yufei and Taiwanese actor Wallace Huo.
The romantic comedy will receive advice and supervision from well-known Korean director Kwak Jaeyoung, who directed My Sassy Girl in 2001, and will next be finishing up a project starring Chinese actress Zhou Xun.
At the moment, the English name of the movie has been called both Honey Enemy by its production, and Honeymoon with the Enemy through Kwon Sangwoo’s social media messages. To stay consistent with the marketing from Honey Enemy’s official Weibo account, we will refer to the film as Honey Enemy only.
Filming started in Jeju Island, but other locations include Japan’s Fukuoka and China’s Shanghai. Production moves to Shanghai early December, and the film is expected to be released next summer in China.
