Girls’ Generation held two consecutive fan meetings in China this week in continuation of their “1st Fan Party ‘Mr. Mr.'” tour.
The eight members flew to Nanjing on Thursday for their second stop on the fan meeting tour, and quickly travelled to Chongqing the next day for the tour’s third fan meeting. They had previously visited Shenzhen in late September.
Since debuting in 2007, Girls’ Generation has never held any large fan meetings in China. This “1st Fan Party ‘Mr. Mr.'” fan meeting tour, organized by Longzhen Culture Development, is a first for the girl group.
At the two fan meetings, the girl group participated in interactive interview segments with their Chinese fans, including sessions where the members made candy and Beijing opera masks live on stage. Of course, the fan meetings also gave their fans a first-hand experience of Girls’ Generation’s powerful stage presence. The performance list included: “Kissing You”, “Gee”, “Genie”, “Hoot”, “Goodbye”, “Mr. Taxi”, “The Boys”, and “Mr. Mr.”.
As one of the members who is more fluent in Mandarin, Hyoyeon sang a clip of A-Mei’s classic ballad “You Want Nothing From Me After All” at the fan meeting in Chongqing, while the rest of the Girls’ Generation members were able to sing from Teresa Tang’s “Tianmimi”. Yuri also impressed fans by reading a fan letter completely in Mandarin.
The next stop on the “Girls’ Generation 1st Fan Party ‘Mr. Mr.'” fan meeting tour will be in Beijing on November 29. Tickets are now on sale!
Meanwhile, it was announced earlier this week that the girl group will be holding a large-scale concert next year in Guangzhou to commemorate their 7th year since debut. The concert date has been scheduled for January 4, 2015.
