Various K-Pop artists participated in the second stop of the Simply K-Pop Tour in China over the weekend.
Held in Shenzhen Bay Sports Centre, the concert featured a top class line-up of G-Dragon, 4minute, Block B, Boyfriend, Crayon Pop, U-KISS, VIXX, and WINNER. This second concert stop follows the visit to Shanghai this past March where artists G-Dragon, Block B, Crayon Pop, U-KISS, and VIXX also attended.
The first concert stop in Shanghai was organized by Arirang TV and Shanghai’s Dragon TV, hosted by Intercrew and F.M. Media, and sponsored by the China Youth Development Foundation and the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. Part of the concert proceeds went to building a “Korea-China Friendship Library” in Ankang, which was affected by the 2008 Sichuan earthquake.
The concert series was promoted to further strengthen ties between Korea and China. After the sudden cancellation of an Inkigayo concert in Shenzhen earlier in November, fans were worried about event arrangements for the Simply K-Pop concert. However, Korean organizers Intercrew and Arirang were quick to clear up any confusion. They stated that communications between the two parties have gone very smoothly.
Although the Shanghai concert was eventually broadcast on Arirang TV and Dragon TV earlier this year, there has been no word on whether or not the Shenzhen concert will receive similar treatment.
So far the concert stop in Shenzhen was the last confirmed date for the Simply K-Pop Tour in China. It seems the concert tour will have only two stops.
Event promoters created beautiful posters for each of the attending guests. Check them out below!
Dedicated fans were able to record some of the performances. A list of videos have been compiled for the rest of this post.
